This is a listing of many discount prescription programs in our area. Most programs require documentation:
a. Last income tax return or recent pay stubs
b. If unemployed, a document from our former employer stating you have been terminated and your health insurance has been stopped
c. Last few months of bank statements
d. Statements covering any investments patient may have
e. Information on accumulated medical debt, which could affect eligibility

World Medical Relief dispenses medications to anyone over the age of 18 who lives in Michigan and meets their income requirements: $36,000 or below for singles, $41,400 for married. If you qualify your medications will cost $8.30 per medication per month, mailed to your home.

Pharmaceutical companies, including Pfizer, Merck and GlaxoSmithKline, offer discounts for their own medicines. AstraZeneca has one just for Medicare Part D recipients.
Inexpensive generics:
Many pharmacy chains and supermarket chains offer many widely used generic medicines for as little as $4/month or $10/3 month supply and some antibiotics are free. Costco has a positive reputation for their pharmacy program and does not require that patients become members. Just tell their door greeter that you are going to the pharmacy.
