The GMD Lions collect hearing aids. Aids are given to Lions Hearing Center in the DMC (4201 St. Antoine 5E-UHC, Detroit 48202, 313-745-4664) for parts to fix existing aids for people who have low or no income.
Lions Hearing Center also provides hearing testing free of charge and low and/or no cost hearing aids based on income (up to 200% of Federal Poverty Level).
Clubs sponsor the persons using the hearing Center. In addition Lions of Michigan Foundation gives some hearing aid assistance as well. Applications for hearing tests and hearing aids can be sent via email to you or go to www.lhcmi.org for more information or call one of the local Lions clubs.
